Celebrating in the Lauragais

This week, a small group of lucky readers enjoyed a personal tour of some of the places in ‘Lauragais: Steeped in History, Soaked in Blood’, including:

Montgey, the only Cathar castle still occupied by the living.

Les Cassès, where the crusaders carried out a mass burning of sixty Cathars.

And Bruno showed us his field of pastel, or woad, and demonstrated his ancient dyeing skills.

One member of the party celebrated her 80th birthday at Le Vingt on the lakeshore at Saint-Ferréol!
